The PCL Europe Championship is pickleball's answer to the Davis Cup — a team-based international competition where nations compete head-to-head. WPC Istanbul Open 2026 is an official PCL Europe Championship event, making it one of the most prestigious tournaments on the calendar.

What is the PCL Europe Championship?

The Pickleball Champions League (PCL) PCL Europe Championship is an international team competition where players represent their home country. Unlike individual tournaments, the Europe Championship format creates a unique blend of personal performance and national pride — every point you win counts for your team and your flag.

Istanbul 2026 hosts the PCL Europe Championship — bringing together national teams from across the continent to compete on the same courts, at the same time, as the individual WPC Open categories.

How Does It Work?
01 Register as a WPC Istanbul Open player — PCL Europe Championship participation is included in your entry fee
02 Your results in all individual categories automatically contribute to your national team's total score
03 Nations are ranked on the live leaderboard throughout the 4-day event
04 The winning nation is crowned at the Gala Ceremony on April 19 — and receives the PCL Nations Cup trophy
05 Results feed into the official PCL Europe Championship rankings — impacting future tournament seedings
Team Türkiye

Istanbul 2026 is a home tournament for Turkish players — and Turkey enters as one of the favourites. With the best local knowledge, home crowd energy, and some of Europe's fastest-rising pickleball talent, Team Türkiye has every advantage.

To represent Turkey in the PCL Europe Championship, you must be a registered WPC player with Turkish nationality or residency. Contact the tournament team to confirm your eligibility and secure your team spot.

How does the double ranking points system work?
Istanbul is geographically unique — the world's only city that spans two continents. Both Complex Istanbul and TRYP by Wyndham are on the European side, at the very point where Europe stretches toward Asia. Results count simultaneously for both the WPC European Tour and the WPC Asian Tour. No other tournament on earth can offer this. One registration, double points.
What does the Full Package include?
The Full Package covers: tournament registration, 4 nights at TRYP by Wyndham Istanbul (4-star, directly connected to Complex Istanbul), full board (daily breakfast + dinner), exclusive guided Istanbul city tour, access to all tournament events and ceremonies, welcome gift bag, and all of the special surprises we're planning. Pricing confirmed on enquiry.
What airport should I fly into?
Both Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) have good connections to the hotel. IST is approximately 30 minutes; SAW approximately 40 minutes. Private and shared transfers can be arranged on request.
Can I enter multiple events and categories?
Yes — within your age category you may enter singles, doubles and mixed doubles. If you qualify for multiple age groups, you may select one category per discipline. PCL Europe Championship is a separate team event — contact us to represent your country.
What level is required to participate?
WPC Istanbul Open is open to all skill levels. All age categories (+19, +35, +50, +60) are open registration events. As this is a WPC ranking tournament, you will need to be a registered WPC player. We can assist with registration if needed.
What is the cancellation policy?
Full refund up to 45 days before the event. 50% refund between 45 and 20 days. No refund within 20 days, but registration may be transferred to another player. Contact the organisation team directly for exceptional circumstances.
